I have a sketch of my patch design, but I really can’t draw well. Is that something I can send you?
Yes! Our designers will create your artwork in our design program from your sketch, no matter if you’re a great artist or not.
Do I have to submit a sketch/artwork?
Yes – a sketch or even unfinished artwork will help our designers in making your final design as close as possible to what you are envisioning for your department. You can also send us images or clip art that you may have.
How do I submit my artwork?
You may fill out our quote form or email us at [email protected].
Which file formats do you accept for submitting artwork?
Our designers prefer cdr, eps, pdf, ai, or jpg.
I have an existing patch that was manufactured with another company. Can you duplicate it?
Yes. If you mail us a physical sample of the patch, we can duplicate it almost exactly. We can mail the patch back to you after production is complete, if you wish.
Will I be able to approve my art before my patches are produced?
Yes. You will work directly with your Account Executive and all artwork is emailed to you for approval before going to production.
Will I be able to see a pre-production sample of my patch before the entire order is produced?
We’d be happy to produce a sample order for you. There is a cost associated to that – please contact your Account Executive for those specifics.
Are there limitations on patch shapes?
No – the sky is the limit on shapes. See our most popular shape templates on our emblem templates page.
I’ve noticed different patches have different borders. Why?
A merrow border is a front to back looping of thread all the way around the border of the patch. This is typically used if the patch is very simple – like a shield shape. If your patch has sharp cut outs or edges, a hot needle or ‘laser cut’ border will be used to achieve the edging you’re looking for.
TIP: When designing your emblem, allow 1/8” for a merrowed border or an 1/8” for a laser cut/hot needle border.
What kind of thread do you use?
We use Polyester threads, as they are more dye stable and last longer.
What kind of backing do you offer?
Plastic, iron on, velcro hook and/or loop and peel & stick.
How small can the lettering be on my patch?
Lettering smaller than 1/8″ will not be legible in embroidery.
Can I use the same fonts on my patch as in a typical word document?
Absolutely! However, some fonts translate better to embroidery. Your Account Executive will direct you in picking the best font for your design.
